For most Amazon sellers, the hardest part of sourcing from China is not finding a supplier — it is getting finished goods from a factory floor in Guangdong to an Amazon fulfillment center without breaking carton standards, missing appointment windows, or losing margin to avoidable rework. As an Amazon FBA freight forwarder China-based, JWLogistics handles that entire chain: supplier pickup, consolidation in our Shenzhen warehouse near Bao'an International Airport, labeling and QC before dispatch, international freight by air, ocean, rail or express, receiving at our overseas warehouses, and final delivery under DDP or DDU terms. This page walks through each stage in order, then covers shipping mode selection, carton prep, and the mistakes that cost first-time importers the most.

Stage 1 — Supplier Pickup and Consolidation in China

Amazon FBA shipments rarely come from one factory. A typical seller sources main units from one supplier, accessories from a second, and packaging inserts from a third, often across Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou and Yiwu. Each supplier quotes its own ex-works price, packing standard, and timeline.

We collect from multiple suppliers and consolidate everything in our China warehouse near Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and close to the Shenzhen ports. That location keeps trucking legs short to both the airport and the sea terminals, reducing the chance of a missed cutoff when a factory delivers late.

During consolidation we can:

  • Receive and check inbound cartons against your packing list
  • Hold goods free of charge until your order is complete
  • Combine multiple POs into one shipment to lower per-unit freight cost
  • Repack loose or non-standard cartons into export-ready master cartons
  • Label, sticker and mark cartons to your specification
  • Perform basic QC checks on quantity, model, color and visible defects

Free warehousing until the order is complete lets you commit to a shipment date based on your slowest supplier rather than your fastest.

Stage 2 — Labeling, Carton Standards and Pre-Shipment Prep

This is where most first shipments go wrong. FBA inbound requirements can change, so always confirm the current specification inside Seller Central before your goods are packed — but these prep categories consistently apply.

Prep AreaWhat It CoversWhy It Matters
Product-level labelingBarcode or FNSKU labels on each sellable unit, scannable and correctly placedUnscannable or missing labels trigger receiving issues and prep fees
Carton labelingBox labels with shipment and carton identifiers, printed clearly on a flat surfaceWrong or duplicated labels can split or misroute inventory
Carton strength and sizeExport-grade corrugated board, weight and dimension limits respected, no overhangCrushed cartons damage units and can be rejected or repacked at your cost
Poly bagging and setsLoose items bagged, multipacks secured as a single sellable unitPrevents units separating and scanning as singles
DocumentationCommercial invoice, packing list and destination-specific paperwork prepared accuratelyMismatched values or SKU counts slow customs clearance and receiving

We handle labeling, re-labeling, poly bagging and repacking in the China warehouse, which is far cheaper than correction after goods reach the destination country. A carton needing rework in the US costs labor at US rates plus delay; the same fix in Shenzhen costs a fraction and happens before the container closes.

Stage 3 — Choosing a Shipping Mode by Restock Urgency

Mode selection is a margin decision, not just a speed decision. The right answer depends on how many days of sellable inventory you have left and your stockout cost per day. Typical transit ranges are below — final rates and times are always confirmed at quotation, since they move with season, carrier capacity, route and cargo profile.

ModeTypical TransitBest Used When
Express courier (EMS / TNT / UPS / FedEx / DHL)3–7 daysDays away from a stockout, or small, high-value replenishment
Air freight China to USA / UK / France / Germany / Italy / Canada5–10 daysUrgent restock where express per-kg cost is no longer justifiable
Rail freight China to UK / France / Germany / Poland / Europe, DDP / DDU18–25 daysMid-weight cargo where you want savings over air without ocean lead times
Ocean freight FCL / LCL China to USA / UK / Canada / France / Germany / Netherlands25–40 days to US West Coast / EuropePlanned replenishment, heavy or bulky SKUs, best cost per cubic meter
US domestic trucking from port to door3–7 daysFinal leg after ocean arrival, including DDP delivery to US addresses

A practical pattern: keep a slow-moving ocean pipeline for baseline volume, and reserve air or express for the two or three SKUs that spike. Splitting one PO across modes is normal and often cheaper than air-freighting the entire order.

Stage 4 — International Freight and Overseas Receiving

Once cartons are labeled and the shipment is closed, we book the international leg. Because we run discounted express accounts alongside air, ocean and rail capacity, we can present comparable options rather than pushing one mode. Door-to-door service is available under DDP and DDU terms, so you can buy on a delivered basis instead of coordinating a broker, a trucker and a receiving appointment yourself.

On arrival, goods can be received into our warehouses in the USA, UK or Canada rather than going straight to Amazon. That intermediate stop adds value:

  • Cartons are checked in and counted against the shipment manifest
  • Damage or shortage in transit is identified before Amazon receives the goods
  • Shipments can be split into multiple FBA shipment IDs or fulfillment centers
  • Stock can be held and released in waves to match Amazon's storage and restock limits
  • Amazon FBA shipping can be arranged from the overseas warehouse on your schedule

For US-bound cargo, trucking from US ports to door under DDP terms covers the final leg, including delivery appointments where applicable. Our China warehouse near Shenzhen ports and the airport handles the export side; the US, UK and Canada warehouses handle the import side.

Stage 5 — FBA Appointment Delivery and Sourcing Support

The last mile into a fulfillment center is appointment-driven. Cartons must match the shipment plan, labels must be scannable, and delivery must be scheduled against the receiving center's availability. Because we handle Amazon FBA shipping routinely, we build the delivery step into the original booking rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Many clients also use us upstream of freight. Our sourcing and dropshipping service covers purchasing from 1688 and Taobao, multi-supplier consolidation, packing and repacking, and one-piece dropshipping. For sellers testing new SKUs, this means validating demand before committing to a container, then scaling winners into ocean freight once the numbers prove out.

Trust signals, honestly stated: we hold a 10-Year Alibaba Badge, the company reports 15+ years on its website, our Alibaba profile self-reports 6,750 sqm of total floorspace, our MIC profile reports throughput of 500 parcels per day, and we report 24/7 inquiry support. Free warehouse storage applies while your order is being completed. Certificates available upon request.

Common First-Timer Mistakes an Amazon FBA Freight Forwarder China Buyers Should Avoid

  • Booking freight before prep is finished. Labels and carton standards should be settled before a cutoff. Rework in the destination country is the single most expensive correction.
  • Assuming the supplier knows FBA requirements. Most factories pack for wholesale, not fulfillment centers. Specify labeling, carton strength and pack configuration in writing.
  • Shipping one PO from one supplier at a time. Consolidating two or three suppliers into a single shipment usually cuts per-unit cost noticeably.
  • Choosing the cheapest mode without checking stock cover. A slow shipment arriving after a stockout is not cheap; lost rank and sales usually outweigh the freight saving.
  • Ignoring the destination warehouse option. Sending everything straight into Amazon removes your buffer and ability to correct problems before they affect your listing.
  • Inconsistent declared values and SKU counts. Documentation errors commonly cause clearance and receiving delays.
  • No single point of accountability. When supplier, forwarder and broker are three companies, nobody owns the outcome. Door-to-door DDP or DDU puts one party on the hook from factory to fulfillment center.

If you are planning a first FBA shipment or fixing a chain that keeps slipping, describe your SKUs, volumes and deadline and we will map the stages against your restock calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions on Amazon FBA Freight Forwarder China Services

How long does it take from supplier pickup to Amazon receiving?

It depends on mode and prep needed. A typical breakdown: 1–3 days for pickup and consolidation in Shenzhen, 1–3 days for labeling, QC and repacking, then the international leg — 3–7 days express, 5–10 days air freight, 18–25 days rail to Europe, and 25–40 days ocean to the US West Coast or Europe. Add final trucking and receiving, typically 3–7 days for US domestic moves. Final rates and times are confirmed at quotation because they shift with season and route.

Do you label and repack goods before they ship?

Yes. Labeling, re-labeling, poly bagging, repacking and basic QC are handled in our China warehouse near Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. Doing this at origin is substantially cheaper than correcting it in the destination country, and it happens before the shipment cutoff rather than after arrival.

Should I send goods straight to Amazon or through your overseas warehouse?

For planned, high-confidence replenishment, direct-to-FBA works fine. For new SKUs, split shipments, or anything with label or packaging risk, receiving into our USA, UK or Canada warehouse first gives you a buffer — you can inspect, correct and release stock in waves aligned to your Amazon restock limits.

Can you ship under DDP or DDU terms?

Yes. Door-to-door service is available under DDP and DDU terms across our main lanes, including rail freight from China to the UK, France, Germany, Poland and Europe, ocean freight to the USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands, and trucking from US ports to door with DDP delivery to US addresses.

Do you handle sourcing and dropshipping as well as freight?

We do. Sourcing and dropshipping from 1688 and Taobao includes multi-supplier consolidation, packing and repacking, and one-piece dropshipping. Many sellers use this to validate demand before committing to a full container, then move proven SKUs into air, rail or ocean freight.

What information do you need to price a shipment?

Supplier locations, SKU list with quantities, carton dimensions and weights, destination country and address or fulfillment center, required delivery date, and whether you want DDP or DDU terms. With those details we can compare express, air, rail and ocean options on a like-for-like basis.
